Experimental typography:
Making and breaking the grid.
Inspired by the modernist and postmodernist design eras, I created two posters meant to explore the capabilities of each style. Using the same content for each, the first iteration uses a strict grid system, while the second breaks the grid in interesting and intentional ways.
The process:
Before designing with shapes, colors, and graphics, I thoroughly explored the capabilities of the grid that I had created. I experimented with different compositions as well as typography and techniques. My drafts range in focus from informational to emotional.
